About Currency and Coin

Currency and Coin was founded in 1993 with two simple goals.

First, we wanted to provide the kind of customer service that was often missing in the rare coin industry. At the time, many coin companies were difficult to work with, and personalized service was often reserved for large buyers spending significant amounts of money. Smaller collectors were frequently overlooked.

While local coin dealers could sometimes offer a more personal experience, they often lacked the inventory and nationwide connections needed to locate harder-to-find coins.

We saw an opportunity to bridge that gap.

Our goal was to combine the personal attention of a trusted local coin dealer with the resources and industry relationships typically available only through larger national firms. More than three decades later, that remains our approach.

At Currency and Coin, our customers are never treated like account numbers in a database. Our representatives work hard to build genuine relationships and provide as much—or as little—guidance as each customer prefers.

Over the years, we’ve built strong relationships with many of the nation’s largest rare coin dealers and wholesalers, earning a respected reputation within the industry. Those relationships allow us to locate everything from common collector pieces to some of the rarest coins on the market.

While we work with a wide range of rare coins—including gold, silver, platinum, antique, and modern issues—we’ve developed a particular specialty in back-dated Silver American Eagles, both raw and certified in MS69 and MS70 condition.

All certified coins we offer have been authenticated and graded by either NGC or PCGS, two of the most respected grading services in the industry.

For raw coins, we take quality control seriously. Every coin is carefully inspected to ensure its condition, date, and mint mark match exactly what was represented. In many cases, multiple team members review each order before it ships, followed by a final inspection to ensure accuracy.
