The 1888-O Morgan Silver Dollar was struck at the New Orleans Mint, a branch mint that primarily produced coins for circulation across the South and the Mississippi Valley. Unlike many New Orleans issues that saw heavy use, some coins from this year were set aside early and survived without entering circulation.
This example is Brilliant Uncirculated (BU), showing no wear from circulation. Design details remain sharp, with strong definition in Liberty’s hair and clear feather detail on the reverse eagle.
