1881 Morgan Silver Dollar (Brilliant Uncirculated)

$150.00

1881 Morgan Silver Dollar

Brilliant Uncirculated (BU)

The 1881 Morgan Silver Dollar was struck at the Philadelphia Mint, the main production facility for U.S. coinage in the late 19th century. Philadelphia issues were produced in large numbers and distributed nationwide, supplying banks and commerce across the country.

This example is Brilliant Uncirculated (BU), showing no wear from circulation. Liberty’s portrait is sharply defined, with strong detail in the hair and facial features, and the reverse eagle displays clear feathering. Original mint luster remains across the surfaces, with any marks limited to light contact consistent with normal mint handling.

Many Morgan dollars from this period were later stored in Treasury vaults, allowing a number of Philadelphia issues to survive in uncirculated condition. A BU 1881 dollar offers a clean, well-preserved example of the series and a clear look at the design as it appeared when first struck.

This coin is well suited for collectors seeking a classic Morgan dollar with strong visual appeal and no circulation wear, whether as a standalone example or as part of a broader date and mint collection
