The Silver American Eagle is one of the most sought-after coins in the world. First issued in 1986, these coins are authentic U.S. silver dollars and not private mint issues, or medals.
The obverse features Adolph Weinman's legendary "Walking Liberty" design used on the half-dollars between 1916 and 1947. If you look closely you'll see Weinman's initials on the hem of Lady Liberty's gown. The reverse design highlights an heraldic eagle under 13 stars. This magnificent design is widely considered to be among the most beautiful ever used on a silver coin.
